Here’s why I like it when kids pop the collars of their polo shirts: it’s a subtle and convenient way of letting me know who the douchebags on college campuses are. Here, I’ll explain.
The history of the polo shirt is actually quite interesting. The shirt, designed in the 19th Century, was originally used as a jersey for sports such as rowing, soccer and polo (hence it’s name). No where in this history did I find that the intended use for the polo was so that young douchebags all over the nation could flip up their collar needlessly and call it fashion. In fact, the proper attire for playing polo required a tennis sweater over a buttoned down collared shirt “to keep the collar out of [the] player’s faces”. Go figure.
I just really don’t think it’s such a great idea to listen to everything Usher tells us to do. In conclusion, my message here is not to hate, it is only this: It’s ok to wear a polo like it was meant to be worn. In fact, I think it’s better because for one brief moment, you won’t be seen as such a tool.
Maybe I’m just judging these Collar Poppers too harshly, after all, what if they’re incognito?
To recap:

Site Developments:
There are no special updates although I am planning on adding some new themes but I have yet to pry my nose out of a book long enough to work on one (or edit any of the downloadable wordpress themes). I’d also like to add an image gallery which I hope will organize the goodies such as scans, wallpapers etc. I try to be consistent but it’s hard because I’m lazy. I snagged one of the gorgeous banners off of Comotized.com which will be rotated at The Martini Lounge.
On a more personal level, I’m slightly put off because I keep getting curt letters from Capital One instead of friendly letters from my penpals that I was so used to recieving. If Capital One thinks he’s just going to ask for money without so much as a “Hello, how are you doing” he is sorely mistaken.

If nothing else, it’s considerate of the Collar Poppers to alert us ahead of time that they’re douchebags.

Heh.. Hahahhaha! I know a couple of people who do that. I never understood it though. I always thought it was just a way to protect their necks from the powerful rays of the sun? xD

lmao I’m with you on the poppy colars thing. Too many people are far too willing to go along with whatever trend hits the fashion world. It’s as if they’re fashion zombies or something. Brainwashed by cotton and sent to earth to annoy all the sane, free-thinking people of the world. My older brother does the poppy thing *shudders* Scary stuff I tell ya lmao
P.S. Thank you for putting one of my banners to use. I’m glad I made something worthwhile

I hate it when people wear their collars like that. It just looks stupid, pointless and it makes them look like they’re “trying too hard”. Total douchebags.

See, the only collar I pop is my jacket, and that’s when it’s insanely cold and I’m too lazy to find a scarf.
But seriously… you look like a tool wearing a polo shirt like that. I think I missed the memo that said it was cool.

Woo, I wear the collars normal. And if it decides to stick up on its own, I iron it! No douchebag-ness for me. That was quite hilarious to read
I also agree with your capital one problem, he can take your money never knowing how you are? I think not!

Ah, so that’s “popping the collars”. I wondered why people do that; it looks so unnatural and surely they’ll keep falling back down and then the wearer needs to adjust them again. And again. And again.
Haha, I haven’t had any snail mail for a long while, unless you count the magazines which I thought the subscriptions has ended. :/

What if a strong gust of wind “pops your collar” and you are oblivious to it? Are you still a douche?
I’ve witnessed more than one female today with the previously mentioned fashion statement so don’t think it is just a male problem.
