My Grandmother Would Be Ashamed
Last night, I purchased a “I Taught Myself Knitting” set from Wal-Mart. Three hours later, I sat stupified in my bedroom with a fistful of yarn that refused to cooperate with me. My intentions were to learn how to knit my own colorful scarf or, more ambitiously, to knit the charming red hat Kirsten Dunst wore in Elizabethtown. This is just a hunch but I think, so far, I suck at knitting.
I recently placed an order for a Canon SD550 digital camera at Newegg.com. Unfortunately, Newegg decided it would be better if they take my money and keep the camera. As a result of their Paypal glitches, I have to wait even longer for my new toy which means you’ll have to wait even longer to see pictures of my knitting, cooking and academic diasters.
Speaking of cooking, I attempted to make a creamy potato soup from a recipe on Allrecipes.com. I decided that since my last cooking experiment was a success, I no longer needed the frivolity of a measuring cup and eyeballed everything. Needless to say, this was pretty stupid. The recipe called for flour and milk which turned the soup into a custard-like consistency. It looked appalling, of course, but I ate it despite it’s gooey, boogery texture. Later, I figured I could just add water to it and all would be well. After spending a night in the refridgerator, the soup had congealed to cement and was impossible to penetrate. This is just a hunch but I think, so far, I suck at cooking.

Hahahahha that’s too bad it didn’t turn out! Hopefully you’ll get your camera soon :/ If not, I’ll bust some nuts. Knitting’s easy
Just keep at it and keep practising. The new layout… I love it.
I did invite you!!! I said it was an ‘anyone can come thing’ and I gave details. NOT MY FAULT YOU DON’T READ WHAT I WRITE!!!

I hate it when you buy something and it takes forever and a month to get it.
lol @ cooking. That’s a classic. There are only a few things I know how to cook, those few things are actually good. However, when going outside my food territory is another story. lol

Knitting? Crocheting is where it’s at, yo. Maybe you and I should start some kind of rebellious online arts and crafts group.
Sorry your potato soup didn’t turn out so well. Don’t think that you suck at cooking, you just rule in making cement.
And I rule at turning maccaroni into cheesy rocks.

But I wanna learn to knit too…
Despite my seemingly crafty nature, I don’t know how to knit. Or crochet either for that matter, though I know one basic circular pattern that my housemaid taught me.
Knitting needles seem so ginormous and threatening compared to hook needles for crocheting, though. Plus I think they’re rather expensive. Or perhaps that was just the wooden ones in the shop.
Anyway, wow, 7.1 MP is a lot, it can take ginormous pictures, then! Looking forward to some photos real soon…

I bought the same kit and nothing months later. I know a little more then what I did but only off movies I downloaded off the net. I hate that kit. I felt so dumb after hours of trying.
Cooking takes many years of just guessing. LOL Trust me. I know a little but nothing what my mom knows.

nope, you’re not a first-timer

“I just had to come see *who* left a broken button on my plugboard. Tsk tsk.”
=P
Anyhoo.
That’s too bad about the camera. At least it looks pretty

And Elizabethtown = I wanted to get up and leave. The only good parts were the ones with Susan Sarandon in them

XP I don’t remember all the sites I visit either. I wouldn’t have known you weren’t actually a first timer except that your comment didn’t get put into moderation mode, which it would have if it was your first time visiting/commenting.
