Florida’s humidity makes it impossible for buttercream frosting to exist outside of the refrigerator without the components separating and melting. I had mild success with a different recipe that calls for boiling flour with milk which is later added to butter and sugar. Still, only mild success.
A new blog redesign is forthcoming.
P.S. Harry Potter “dies” but he lives in the end. Voldemort kills himself accidentally and some other stuff happens. And I didn’t even read the book or actively seek out spoilers. I sympathize with true Potter fans that are trying to maintain the ending as a surprise.

Your ending sounds a lot better than what I’m reading is the actual ending. And by reading I mean wikipedia, ’cause I quit on the fifth book back in September and have little desire to continue reading the most overrated book of the century. Or maybe that’s just my inner French Romanticism speaking.

lol I read the last line of the book before I started XD it’s such a bad habit of mine :\ those cupcakes look great, though.

Yumm, those look really good. ^_________^
People are getting all crazy w/ Harry Potter. I haven’t read any of the books or seen the movies, not interested, haha~

I haven’t been able to get to the new HP book yet. At my house we share and take turns when the new book comes out, and I haven’t had a chance to even touch the book yet.
Of course, since I surf internets I already know what happens.
I’m sorry to say I’m not a fan of cupcakes. Not your fault though. Those look alright… for cupcakes.

Anna, I think I started reading the first book. I honestly can’t remember. I think it’s a charming story (no pun intended) but I don’t understand what all the big stuff is about. I feel like it makes a better movie than a book.
Darren, it’s tempting isn’t it? I used to do that when I was reading other book series but then I’d find that I couldn’t understand the last line, so I had to read the last couple of pages which meant it was pointless to read to the end.
Vanessa, so what’d you think of the ending? Frankly, I feel like it’s anti-climatic. This whole time I was lead to believe that Harry Potter was the only one to defeat Voldemort and then he ends up doing nothing. Voldemort accidentally kills himself?! Lame.

I’ve always found the HP fandom more enjoyable than the actual books. The ending did surprise me though. I was pretty sure that Harry was gonna die, and maybe Neville would kill Voldemort.
Anyhow, still haven’t been able to read the book. My sister and my mom have both got it. At this rate I might actually be able to pick up a copy from the library quicker, if I add myself to the waitlist.

For “mild success” those cupcakes sure look amazing! I also really like the fabric you used in the apron a few posts down. I also just read the part on your page where you tell the story of meeting your boyfriend and emailing your number to him while you were both in the same computer lab. That’s the best story to be able to tell about how you met! Almost too nerdy to be true, and completely awesome. Ha.
I just realized you listed julieinjapan.com on your links page. Thanks very much!

Julie, Thanks for stopping by!
I love to tell that story because it’s so 21st century. Emailing someone a phone number? He’s lucky that I actually did it!

I’m a true fan and haven’t told anyone any spoilers! It was hard, being the first person in my house to read it, not to gasp in horror here and there and blurt something out. But I did it!

Thank you for the HP spoilers. I copied your text and emailed it to all my friends so the ones that bought the book can hate me forever XD.

The Harry Potter ending was so predictable… Such a cop-out.

Were these made at the bakery, in Epcot, in the France display. I hear that is the place to go– to dance and bake with real butter.
