Sasha, it’s great! Our instructor has a lot of experience and loves to decorate so she’s really enthusiastic about it.

It’s definitely a little challenging for beginners, I had to get used to the lingo and she kinda expects you to catch on quickly (I kept thinking, what’s a coupler?! What does she want me to do?!). But I’m having a good time and learning how to use all the tools so it’s fun! You should try it!

Calling the cops without knocking first is a dick move.

I have always wondered about the cake decorating classes they teach at craft stores. Is your class any good?

Yeah, we had a great time and it provided a good laugh for us. Really though, there’s a whole UCF student crew living in the house across the street from me and their parties usually spill out into their driveway so sometimes they wake me up. But hey, it’s a Saturday and I’m either out myself or too tired to care so I just go back to sleep.

I just think it’s funny that, in the year and three months we’ve been living in this apartment, that was the first time the cops, or anyone for that matter, have told us to be quiet. And there have been plenty of times when we have been louder (i.e. Drunk people on our balcony yelling obscenities into the streets. Playing soccer in the living room, etc.)

Plus, it just makes me a little peeved since the guy below us JUST moved in like a week ago. It’s as if he is trying to establish dominance in the building or something.

Oh well. It was all in good fun and we still enjoyed ourselves, now didn’t we?

You have a good point, dew. I’d still argue, in order to maintain a good neighborly friendship, especially in an apartment environment, a stern warning is probably preferable to calling the cops immediately. Putting in a call may result in having to come out to speak to the cop anyway (in our case, our neighbor had to meet the cop outside anyway since the officer couldn’t hear any noise and essentially couldn’t find us). I don’t necessarily have a problem with anyone calling the cops over noise, it’s the embellishments to the story and the fact that he didn’t alert us prior that we were being too noisy.

Hate to disagree, but I would call the cops, too, if neighbors were keeping me awake at 3am, no matter what I had to do or not do in the morning. I think that in an urban area where the cops had some serious cop business like solving murders, I would try to talk to the neighbors first, but in my area all the cops are doing at night is harassing teenagers, so I’d save myself the trouble of getting dressed and trying to reason with drunk people and just call the cops.

But I do agree that his remark made no sense, and he shouldn’t even have been telling you who called, let alone what his morning plans were.
