I saw it, although I usually don’t watch it. But, just like Justin Timberlake said like 3 times: “Show more music videos, MTV!”

Ugh, the VMAs have certainly hit a new low for what constitutes an awards show. They seem to go for the low-blow-shock tactic everytime. I usually don’t watch these with the expectation that anything of note is usually repeated tirelessly on entertainment news all over TV-land. Needless to say, I am never disappointed.
And as for Britney *sigh*, I see her more as a commentary on American society. She’s one person kinda screwing up, but that happens. The fact that everyone is so fixated on it… that’s a little embarassing.

I think I watched the VMA’s back in 2002, maybe even 2003. But I don’t anymore, probably because no artist I like is nominated anymore =P

I had even forgotten they existed, I remembered in these days after the Britney scandal.

i never really watched that show. but i did look up that video of Brit to see what all the fuss was all about it. the look on her face horrified me the most, she was still totally out of it. she should just quit the music business and start taking care of her children and herself!

I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels the same way, Jen. I think their ratings have actually taken a dive. I think Kanye’s remarks about MTV using Britney as a gimmick has a grain of truth to it.

Jenn, I haven’t even seen any music videos on MTV. The ones I have seen I caught on youtube!

asma, you’re right, that was pretty much all I heard about the show. No one talked about the winners.

Sasha, You’re right. What did everyone expect out of that performance? They just wanted to watch her crash and burn.

ugh, I didn’t watch the VMA’s. I think I’m the only person who hasn’t seen Britney… though, is anyone really surprised that she did so poorly? it’s like tuning in to see a train wreck.

I never watch them anymore.. any award show for that matter. I watched Britney on MTV.com b/c I was curious to see how she did. I’m SO sick of award shows in general, blegh~
