A Thanksgiving in Pictures

It went in at 3:00pm.

Preparing the Turkey

It was done by 7:00pm, but somehow, amidst the confusion and the excitement - we completely forgot to take a picture of the finished bird. I know, I don’t know how I could have forgotten to photograph the main course that I was fretting about. But I can tell you, it turned out well, a little drier than I had anticipated but it tasted great. Everyone seemed pleased or are all fantastic liars.

We have lots and lots of leftovers.

Delicious!

I am, however, very disappointed with my Pumpkin Cream Cheese Pie (below) which was under-baked. It was sweet but alas, it needed another 5 or 10 minutes in the oven to truly be a pie instead of mush of semi-cooked cheesecake. I don’t know where my baking mojo went that day.

looks yummy! glad everything turned out well, mostly. :)

Your food looks like it turned out well (well, except for the raw turkey :P)

What is in the last picture? It looks a little like strawberry shortcake.

Thanks! Yes, that last picture is sort of a finger food translation of the strawberry shortcake. It’s made with premade pastry dough. My bro-in-law put that together. I thought it was lovely, very sweet too!

Hey,

your pictures looks amazing.

I have never done a turekey yet. But it looks very tasty.

I like to cook to but only something what is easy :)

Greetings from Berlin :)

Your Thanksgiving spread looks so impressive! I’m very intrigued by the breadsticks (is that what they are?)–they look so yummy!

As far as the turkey: I know exactly why you didn’t get the picture, post-cooking. Once that golden bird comes out of the oven, everyone is focused on ONE thing: eating it! :) I didn’t get a picture until we’d already sliced it up. What can I say?

Shannalee’s last blog post..On Thanksgiving

Thanks Shannalee! My bro-in-law actually made the breadsticks and I think he used pastry dough to make it. It was delicious! I’ll have to find out more details.
