Grapefruit Marmalade Giveaway

MC10th Dec 2008The Daily Nonsense, , , ,

Grapefruit, it’s a bitter fruit. So, I was a little worried when I popped open the lid to my grapefruit marmalade (made from this fabulous recipe), expecting it to be too bitter to slather generously on crackers or toast. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the marmalade had a wonderful balance between sweet and bitter. I added a stick of cinnamon which gave it an extra sweet punch. My first try at making fruit marmalade ended up being a huge success and now I’m officially hooked on making jams. The grapefruit marmalade is strong, for sure, but delightfully exotic and would make a great gift for someone or for yourself!

At first I was taken aback when I read “bitter”. And then when you said it was a fine balance between the sweet and bitter, it started to interest me. Aww, too bad you’re only shipping nationally!! I guess I would have to look up the recipe to try and make some myslef! ^_^

This sounds delish! I love grapefruit anyways – have never minded the bitter. It’s great to see you over on http://www.Bakespace.com! Keep stopping by and talking to all of us – we love picking each other brains or simply chatting about random (usually food related) subjects.

    Mmmmm….
    Sounds really good.
I’ve never had grapefruit marmalade, although I’ve had made orange and assorted citrus marmalade. I’d like to try it. Thanks for the giveaway. I have just found your blog. I’m going to try your sugar cookies. They look REALLY good. I live in sunny California so hope I do not have humidity problems you have in Florida. Thanks for the recipe. Have a happy holiday season!

    Just found your site.
I love grapefruit but never thought there was a recipe for making the marmalade. I have ruby grapefruit now so I’ll save the skins to try, although it’d be great to win your contest.
    Thanks for posting your recipe.
