A Love Affair
I have always, always had a fascination with stationary, journals, calligraphy, pens and anything related to paper. I recently (and accidentally really, it was on backorder FOREVER and I forgot about it until it was sent to me) bought a moleskin. But I have a notorious love-hate realtionship with writing – especially in journals. I tend to fill the entire thing with trite commentary, lists and the occasional doodle only to throw it away in total embarrassment. I always feel like there are thousands of far more talented people out there writing brilliant things in their darling little notebooks while I scribble down “Don’t forget the spaghetti!” next to reflections of life and love.
At home I have an embarrassingly large plastic container filled with stationary supplies – mostly from, of all places, the dollar store. Trust me, I’ve been to nearly every Dollar Store in Central Florida and you’d be amazed by the selection of stationary.

I am sure you are under estimating your talent for trite commentary.

Hmm, never thought to check out the Dollar Store for stationary.. I, too, have tons of it but most were too expensive to write on, hehe~
I use to have journals back when I was younger but was too lazy to write in them and some were too cute to write it.. yes, I have problems, haha~~ =P

I dunno, my recent blog entries have been pretty trite. It’s hard to outdo myself every time

Jenn, you’d be surprised! Check out this set I found at the dollar store!
Just depends on the dollar store I guess, I have favorites around town
I feel like I’ve filled dozens of journals and have destroyed or tossed them all. Some stationary I’ll just hoard and never write on because they’re so cute – so you’re not the only one with “problems”, haha

Almost all of my cards have came from Ross (where they run around $4 a pack), and almost all of my decorative notepaper came from Dollar Tree. I envy your plural dollar stores. I was really put out when I moved here because there was only one dollar store in town and it was crap. Luckily, they’ve built two Dollar Tree stores since then, which makes things much better.
I keep a paper journal too. I’ve been keeping one in one form or another since I was about seven. I never reread them, and I think the only reason I’m not more self-conscious about what I write is because I’ve been doing it so long. These days I only write in it about twice a month though. I’m actually far more self-conscious about the crappyness of my blog posts.

Yeah, I stock up when I go to the dollar store – then when there’s a special occasion (and I always seem to be broke around those times) I already have things to wrap or write on. Plus it’s SO cheap!
