I’m Exhausted
I’ll be the first to admit that I lead a pretty sedentary lifestyle. I sit at a computer for most of the day and aside from my brief running/yoga stint (which I do intend to restart soon) the most exercise I get is when I’m standing in the kitchen making dinner.
So the move into the new condo we’re renting stripped me of my cooking mojo, my energy and basically my will to live. Going up two flights of stairs for boxes that never seemed to end will do that to a person. But now, finally, after 2 weeks, we are all moved in.
Welcome to our living room, here you’ll find my boyfriend engrossed in a game of GTA4 and the puppy (not pictured) pissing sneakily by the coffee table.
And the bedroom, where magic happens.
I’d show you more but I can’t for two painful reasons: one, my Canon PowerShot that I’ve owned for more than 5 years finally broke and two, I hardly had any time to take photos with the Nikon D60 I borrowed for the weekend. On Saturday we hosted a housewarming and, with the help of a friend, made Skittles Vodka. You must be thinking, Skittles Vodka sounds DELICIOUS and it does sound delicious. But after separating the colors, letting the candy sit in Vodka overnight and painstakingly straining the sugary goop leftover – it just isn’t worth it.

The general consensus claims that the red vodka tastes better than the other flavors but it certainly beats the tea-colored version you’ll notice at the very right of the picture – we just decided to toss all the leftover skittles with the leftover vodka and came up with that cringe-inducing liquid.
The following Sunday morning I was exhausted, mildly hung over and anxious about the Easter brunch menu I was preparing for close friends and family. Inspired by the recent magazine issue of “All You” that I picked up on my last grocery trip, I decided to serve the following:
Sliced avocados and sliced oranges on a bed of lettuce
Parmesan and artichoke quiche
Fresh strawberries with sugar sprinkled on top
Sliced turkey wraps
Brown Sugar Bunt Cake
Scrambled eggs with chopped green pepper, onion and tomato
Lemonade and Orange/Tangerine Mimosas
Store bought mini-muffins, sugar cookies, Peeps and mini-strawberry shortcake
But too bad I don’t have any PICTURES of any of this, so it’s like it DIDN’T HAPPEN. Oh, but I’m not bitter. Just tired. Very, very tired.
