A New Look for Shibooya!

This calls for cake! Luscious Lemon Cake to be exact, but before I get to that – Shibooya.com has a new look! I know, it seems like the blog has been schizophrenic these past few days but bear with me. I’m trying to organize my interest and channeling them in the appropriate direction. Check my “About Me” page to see my other little obsessions I’m working on. If you see any part of the blog acting funny – let me know so I can obsess over WordPress instead of studying for the GRE (I’ll use any excuse!).

You’ll notice Shibooya Shoppe has disappeared! Oh no! That doesn’t mean it’s dead, instead, I’m working on a sub-domain to house the project because, really, sometimes food and fashion just don’t mix.

That being said, on to some cake!

Marie’s blog, A Year from Oak Cottage, is a wistful, shabby-chic little gem. She has lovely musings on appreciating the little things in life and her recipe entries are real treats. It kind of makes me want to move in with her. Alas, making her Luscious Lemon Cake was as close as I could get:

Sweet and sour in the Summertime

Cut up into little squares with a lemon slice for garnish, these cakes would make the perfect addition to a hot backyard BBQ or a Sunday brunch (with lemonade mimosas, of course). I found that before serving, popping the cake in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes (after it’s completely cooled from the oven) made it an extra cool treat.
