Ch-ch-changes!
Shibooya is in desperate need of some reogranization! Over the next few days you’ll notice a few much needed changes happening withthe blog. The shoppe will be moving to a subdomain – on it you’ll find affordable style commentary and new inventory, meanwhile, Shibooya.com will continue with it’s regularly scheduled programming of food posts and the like. I know it’s confusing – so I’m sorry to have overwhelmed you by combining all these interests into a strange mish-mosh of a blog, but I’ll have it sorted out promptly.
Speaking of changes, earlier this month I was inspired by a new post by franki durbin called Improve Your Life in Just One Week. I have to admit, I wasn’t strict with myself and didn’t stick to the recommended one week challenge – however, I was inspired to make my own personal changes: After a 2+ year hiatus, I’m going back to graduate school. I’ll wait for you’re applause die down.
I know, it’s not that big of a deal, lots of people go back to school all the time but I have a new appreciation for people who actually go through with it. It’s a big commitment. So, I recently dusted off my 2008 GRE study guide (rather begrudgingly I might add) and borrowed a Kaplan book and flashcard set to get me started. I had started studying for the GRE before but this time, after dropping $150 to register, it’s official: I take the test August 1st,2009. So between the entries about Grasshopper Pie and pictures of dinner, you may find yourself reading boring entries about the stresses surrounding standarized testing and choosing a degree program.
Wish me luck?
By the way, here’s the latest from the kitchen:
A slightly different approach to Spanish Rice and not an altogether terrible one though I do find that it left the right a bit overcooked. But after reading a few of the 600+ reviews this particular recipe, I think I’d opt to make it with the recommended chicken stock to give it a little more flavor.

Hiya! It’s so lovely of you keeping a shop. Your items are gorgeous! Anyway, good luck with your going back to graduate school.
I’m through with that, thank goodness! @_@
