About the Site
Created in June 2005, Shibooya is named after Tokyo’s Shibuya shopping district. My trip to Japan inspired the idea for a personal blog. With the help of other longtime bloggers, I was able to get started on my first Wordpress theme. Since I was fairly new to the blogging community, the site went through many transformations. I won a free domain and hosting for a year from helloandgoodbye.org (now inthelifeof.org) and so www.shibooya.com was formed.
The blog doesn’t quite fit in any particular niche- but, if I were forced to describe Shibooya.com, I’d have to say that it’s an ongoing exploration of happiness and discovery through food, creativity and tacky celebrity gossip.
