After much anticipation, I recieved my new digital camera in the mail. The Canon SD550 is working beautifully and I couldn’t be more content. Here are a few examples of my happiness:

Garden Statue - Taken on my backporch

Garden Flower - It’s the only thing actually alive in our “garden”
I suppose this means that I should join flickr and flood it with with psuedo-artistic pictures. Consider it done!
I have a 5 page paper on the Cuban Revolution due tonight and I’ve only just started the introduction (this is without having read the book, of course). More pressing matters are distracting me from my assignments and so I will address them here in the hopes that I can regain my focus. I recently watched Lindsay Lohan’s video for “Daughter to Father” and I am struck with only one sentiment: Why won’t God just let Lindsay Lohan be happy?
Kelly Clarkson and Lohan, both vying for the position of being the most jaded, have competing melodramatic music videos. Clarkson, for the most part, keeps her composure and even attempts to end the video on a happier note (end the cycle of domestic violence! Hooray!). On the other hand, Lohan in a vomit-inducing prom dress, bangs on the bathroom door wildly while her parents fight in the next room. Why is Daddy such a jerk? I know, maybe God just hates rich white girls.
Since Lohan is waiting for the postman to bring her a letter, I decided to write her one and it goes something like this:
Dear Lindsay,
If you are as annoying in your personal life as you are on TV and in the movies, I would also turn into a drug addict and an alchoholic. Cut your Dad some slack.
Love,
Mari
P.S. Stop singing.
